Trade routes to outlying star systems are in dispute, the greedy trade federation has stopped any shipping to the tiny peaceful planet of Naboo. The Jedi (qui gon jinn, and obi wan) board the trade federations control ship, located in the middle of the blockade. Although only there to negotiate the federations turns on them and orders there droids to exterminate the Jedi.
Escaping the two Jedi sneak on to a federations ship, this lands upon Naboo. There they come to find out the federation has an invasion planned. On Naboo qui gon saves a rather clumsy Gungan from being squashed, who in turn takes him and obi wan to the secret under water Gungan city. There they are turned away with their request for help being declined. They are given a speeder and told the fastest way is threw the planet core. They barely escape while almost being swallowed by a huge goober fish.
When the companions arrive, they come to see the invasion has already taken place. So they rescue queen Amidala , her royal guards and a group of pilots. They escape on a royal starship, but on the attempt to make it past the blockade there shield generators get knocked out. A little droid named r2d2Fxes the shield and restores the shields, but by then they have taken too much damage and must land on a planet named Tattoine. While there their republic credits get declined, so they must in turn trust a young slave boy named Anakin to win a pod race they bet on. Qui gon test young Anakin’s midi chlorines to only find out they are even higher than that of master Yodas.
Secretly qui gon also adds Anakin’s freedom as a part of the bet. Winning the bet they head out to leave, but not before qui gon has a small light saber duel with Darth maul. Escaping once again they head for Corisant. There they are greeted by Palpatine. They go before the republic, but because there is no proof they are declined help. In result they hold a vote for palpatine to become the senate.Obi wan, qui gon, queen Amidala, head back to Naboo. When they reach the planet they convince the Gungans to help and go to war with the droids as a distraction. Amidala and the two jedi head to take the city back.
While there Qui Gon and obi wan take on Darth maul. After a great light saber battle Qui gGon is killed by Darth maul which in return obi wan kills Darth maul. While all this was taking place Annakin accidently blows up the droids command ship, destroying the droids. It looks like a victory for Naboo. The heroes are greeted with a great celebration and to mourn the death of Qui Gon.
